Well its Not the only way but its is surly the easiest way it is the fastest way to start accepting credit cards and paypal for your products,
and YES you need the merchant account to start selling on your website
Not if you’re smart. PayPal is risky for sellers, while it protects buyers. There are a million or so merchant accounts (that will allow you to accept credit cards, etc). You don’t need PayPal. Do some research first before you dive in.
