how do you set up a paypal merchant account?

i am making a website for someone and he has a paypal account and now he is trying to set up something for business so he can leave a link on his site and be able to order something via paypal or credit card. We started someone and they are going to be leaving a 4 digit code or something on his next bank statement, are we doing the rite thing? if so, once we get it set up, how do you put items on, and does paypal provide u with a link to give the customers the page that you are selling the item on or what?

My web designer set up my payl account but you can email him your question and see what he has to say. His email is. Tell him Jen referred you.
I know its not too difficult to do and it sounds like you are headed in the right direction. I know paypla made 2 small deposits into my bank account and I had to verify the amounts. You can call your bank and get the deposit amounts over the phone instead of waiting fo ryour bank statement.
But as for the actual placing of paypal on the website, I let my web guy do that.
