The easiest and quickest merchant accounts are Paypal and Google. Both offer free levels charging only a percent of the sales like 2% or 2.97% and a small transaction fee like 20 cents. You can also use their shopping carts. Google pays slow, Paypal is widely accepted and pays quick on a consistent basis. I know plenty of online retail sites that only use Paypal. Authorize.net costs money plus you use a compatible merchant account. Unless you start doing tons of business I wouldn’t bother with the cost of Authorize.net and one of the accepted merchants.
As a merchant, I **** PayPal. I would avoid it.
