Wireless credit card processing has really developed in the last few years. Previously merchants, or anyone else who needed to take payments ‘on the road’ were stuck with cash, or a check.

Checks obviously had the problem of fraud, and large amounts of cash are always difficult to carry about. Now there are various options open to traders.

The easiest and cheapest way to do wireless credit card processing is by getting a wireless merchant account. A trader signs up for one and then has the choice of getting a wireless card reader that connects to a cell phone network, so they can take payments anytime, anywhere, from anyone. It’s also cost effective and quick.

Also more recent developments in wireless merchant services has meant that people are now also able to use their cell, or mobile phones to take payments with. Various apps and tools are available for a casual user to be able to take a credit card payment with a phone. However, the wireless processing costs for these sorts of services are high.

If a person, or organization is looking to take payments with Wireless Credit Card Processing regularly, then a wireless merchant account will be by far the cheapest and best way to do things.

Having said that, people still need to find a high quality wireless merchant account, or high quality regular account that can also offer wireless facilities. Merchant Account providers in the market place can differ significantly and the lowest ‘rate’ doesn’t always work out to be the cheapest overall cost.

People need to be aware of other charges, as the overall processing costs are made up of a rate and a flat transaction fee, as well as other possible extras such as account fees and statement fees. A Wireless Merchant Account provider may also charge high fees to buy, or lease wireless credit card processing equipment.

Whilst it may sound a little complicated, it isn’t really, as long as people talk to wireless merchant account providers that are completely upfront about what their wireless processing charges will be.

To help people that are looking for wireless merchant accounts, we have looked at the industry to find the best providers, based on wireless processing charges, quality of service and the wireless equipment they have available.

Based on those criteria Merchant Warehouse consistently comes out top.

There are several reasons for this firstly, their wireless processing costs are pretty much the cheapest in the industry. They in fact guarantee that their overall processing costs are the cheapest and are prepared to pay $100 if people can find anything for less.

They are also actually prepared to talk and consult with potential customers. Many providers out there use hard sales tactics to get potential customers to sign up for an account, sometimes brushing over details such as different charges and that long term contracts must be signed. Merchant Warehouse can help people to understand the industry and all the potential charges an account will incur.

There is no application fee, no set up fee and the contract goes on a month to month basis. This is really unusual in the industry, as most providers want customers to sign onto 1 -2 year contracts. Basically account holders get all the benefits of merchant accounts, such as much lower processing fees, without the negatives of being tied into long term contracts with expensive get out clauses.

This is combined with great service and the latest technical infrastructure to ensure merchants are up and running and taking payments at all times.

They have a large range of wireless credit card processors, including the Verifone, Nurit and Ingenico ranges. There also have their own inhouse software – MerchantWARE which allows merchants to use their cell / mobile phones to process cards.

The software works with the IPhone, Android, Windows Mobile and Blackberry’s. Traders get to choose which type of processing equipment is going to be the best for them. They also offer the same price guarantee for the wireless credit card processing equipment, as they do for the merchant rates, in that they won’t be beaten for price.

Overall they are a very good company to do business with, that offer mobile traders the best of both worlds, in that they can get the cheapest processing costs combined with rolling contracts.

Of course nothing is perfect and Merchant Warehouse is no exception to this. However, for anyone looking to get either a wireless merchant account, or any other type of merchant account Merchant Warehouse are the first company they should be talking to.

Click Here to head over to their official website and arrange a consultation, or just get some more information.

I’m also happy to give a recommendation to another company in the industry – Charge.com, they are a well respected processor and have a lot of high profile clients. The rates that they charge are generally some of the lowest around with good service.

However, the main reason that I don’t recommend them before Merchant Warehouse is they want potential customers to sign long term contacts.

Also the flexibility that merchants get by being able to use cell phone, or a wireless card reader with the Merchant Warehouse is excellent.

All in all, for traders that need to take payments remotely, from transport organizations to traveling salesman and trade show vendors, then getting a wireless merchant account has many advantages.

It will usually lead to an increase in sales and allow people much more flexibility in the way that they receive payments, as well as the way they conduct their business.

To get the best deals for California Credit Card Processing then there are some things that merchants need to be aware of.

Whilst being able to accept cards it vital for business today, if organizations, or individuals don’t pick the right providers for California Merchant Accounts, the process can turn out to be much more expensive than they initially thought.

The first thing is that the percentage rate charged by processing companies is not the only charge that an account holder will have to pay. There is also a flat transaction fee levied for each payment processed. Each account provider may also add on other charges such as account, or statement fees, as well as contracts with get out clauses.

Also individuals and businesses need to be aware that there are different rates for different types of transactions on California Merchant Accounts. Transactions where the customer is not actually face to face with the merchant will attract higher fees, simply because of the high possibility of fraud.

These would include Internet, or online merchant accounts, or telephone order and mail order transactions. Face to face transactions such as retail, have lower processing fees.

Merchants also need to find California Merchant Account providers who can offer high quality service. If the a merchants system goes wrong, or is down then payments can’t be processed which hurts takings and profits.

To help merchants looking for California Credit Card Processing, we have reviewed the merchant account industry to find the best providers offering merchant accounts for businesses’ based in California.

Our top recommendation for people looking to get a California Merchant Account is the Merchant Warehouse.

They offer the lowest processing costs in the industry. That is the lowest overall processing fees, which includes all the fees that are potentially charged to an account, not just the percentage ‘rate’, which can be misleading.

They even go as far as to guarantee this! Find something cheaper elsewhere and they pay $100. They also explain all of this in a no pressure consultative environment, in which they go through how the industry works and everything that can affect an account.

This is in stark contrast to many of the other merchant account providers out there who will often use hardcore sales tactics and brush over extra charges and rate increases to get customers to sign up.

They also offer rolling month to month contracts, with no get out charges. This is also very different to how things are normally done, where longer 1 -2 year contracts with hefty termination fees are the norm.

There’s also no application fee, or set up fee, so there is no risk in making an application. Merchant Warehouse also offer a variety of ways to make payments, including normal face to face credit card processing, Internet and online merchant accounts and wireless merchant processing for people taking payments out on the road.

Merchant Warehouse also provide free software to process payments on a computer, free shopping cart software for ecommerce sites and free software programs so merchants can accept cards using a cell or mobile phone, such as an IPhone, Blackberry, Android or Windows Mobile phone.

Merchants can also accept all the major credit cards with the California merchant account. There is a 99% approval rating and most accounts get set up within 24 hours.

Of course Merchant Warehouse is not perfect, there will at time be problems, or difficulties like everything else in this world. However, they are the most service driven company we have come across.

For anyone looking for California Credit Card processing the best thing to do is to Click Here and head to their website to apply, or to get more information / an account consultation.

For California Merchant Accounts we also recommend Charge.com. They are also a high quality provider with some very low rates, however the longer term contacts they want customers to sign means that we always prefer Merchant Warehouse.

Get started with California Credit Card processing right away. Head over to their site right now to get started.

Being able to accept credit cards for a Restaurant, or Cafe is so important today. Accepting credit cards allows customers much more choice. Ultimately, it will mean more customers and usually an increased average sale, because people don’t have to worry, or be held back by much cash they have on them.

There are other advantages too. It allows the restaurant, or cafe to benefit by helping to speed up the check-out process, as well as protecting against possible losses from bad checks, as well as reducing the risks and difficulties of keeping large amounts of money around.

However, some businesses are still reluctant to sign up for a restaurant merchant account because of the cost to process payments. Although there are fees associated with accepting cards, in virtually all cases the increases in customers and increase in average sale price easily exceeds processing costs and results in bigger profits. If it didn’t, restaurants and cafe’s wouldn’t take cards.

Having said that, restaurants and cafe’s looking for a merchant account provider need to ensure that they use a specialist restaurant merchant account from a high quality low cost provider.

A restaurant merchant account / Cafe merchant account differs from an ordinary merchant account in that they need the ability to add in tips to a customers bill. Generally, many companies provide special accounts for restaurants and cafe’s and they are not too difficult to find.

What is more difficult however, is to be able to find a high quality merchant account provider that offers low processing costs.

In fact I still get email all the time from readers that have experienced problems with their merchant accounts. The reason is that many merchant account providers are not completely upfront with what they will be charging people and businesses to process credit cards.

When individuals first speak to merchant account companies, the first question they ask is usually ‘what rate do you charge?’ Unfortunately, this can be a little misleading, because often what they will be quoted is a discount rate, not what they will actually pay.

To really understand what restaurant credit card processing will cost they need to look at the overall charges that will be applied to an account.

Basically, people will pay a flat transaction fee, as well as a percentage rate based on the amount of the transaction. The fees actually paid can vary depending on the type of card used and the information that is collected at the time of the sale.

Merchant Account Providers may also charge other fees such as statement fees, monthly minimums, start up fees, termination fees and some may also try to get people to sign up to long term contracts. They may also encourage businesses to lease restaurant credit card processing equipment from them, which works out to be very expensive.

People need to understand all of these charges before they can properly judge between different merchant accounts. This process can however be made much easier by speaking to companies that are completely upfront about their charges and are prepared to offer consultations, rather than sales talk.

So what is a good Restaurant Merchant Account?

It’s a question we often get. We’ve tested 17 different companies in the marketplace and my first choice is always Merchant Warehouse.

There are several reasons for this, however the main one is that they take a different approach to the other companies in the industry, in that they are prepared to talk to people instead of just trying to get them sign up for an account.

This means they help people to understand the industry and the costs that will be involved with their accounts. That means that with them there are no hidden fees, people get a full picture of what they will end up paying for their restaurant of cafe merchant account.

The consultation also covers advice on the terminals and other software people might need to set up their account.

Their overall fees are some of the lowest around, in fact they currently offer a guarantee that if someone can find lower fees they will offer them $100. They also have a 99% approval rate, meaning 99% of the people who apply are able to get a merchant account.

This guarantee is available for people who are looking for a brand new account, or for those looking for a better deal than they get from their current account provider. It also covers any credit card processing equipment people need to buy.

They of course also offer specific restaurant merchant accounts, but they don’t require people to sign long contracts, they roll from month to month so people aren’t tied into anything. There are also no start up fees, and their accounts also allow people to process all the major cards.

Merchant Warehouse are not perfect though. We are dealing with technology, and sometime technology goes wrong. However, to minimize any problems they have invested in a state of the art infrastructure and have 24 /7 support teams, so customers can always get through and get problems sorted out as quickly as possible.

A good indication of the high quality and commitment of these guys, is that they recently won the top ISO from the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA). The ETA are an international regulator of the merchant account industry.

Click Here and head to the Merchant Warehouse official site, or call their specialist consultation number on 1.866.372.1152.

As well as Merchant Warehouse I am also happy to recommend another company for Restaurant Merchant Accounts Charge.com.

They also have a very high approval rate and very low overall fees, with good customer service. However, they do ask people sign longer contracts which is why I always recommend Merchant Warehouse to people as a first choice for restaurant credit card processing.

If you are doing business Online then you need to get an Internet merchant account.

An Internet Merchant Account is a merchant account that integrates directly with a website, or the shopping cart of a website. It uses a payment gateway to do this and allows website owners and operators to process cards directly through their site. People who want to use an Internet site to create leads, without directly taking payments through the site can use a regular Merchant Account.

A specialist Internet merchant account will help website owners to get the absolute lowest costs to process credit cards and take money Online. However, finding the best account provider for their needs is not always easy.

In fact Internet credit card processing can actually work out to be an expensive process unless people are aware of what to look out for in an Internet Merchant Account provider.

Many problems can arise for people with Internet Merchant Accounts from getting charged a lot more than they thought they would be, to extra charges added on in the ‘small print’ of their contracts. These may include long contracts and hefty fees to terminate accounts and change providers.

The main reason for these problems happening is that the merchant account marketplace is very competitive, and there are many companies fighting over the same business. Whilst this may seem like a good idea, it actually creates a problem because many Internet credit card processors are not completely straightforward about what they charge, in an attempt to persuade as many people to sign up as possible.

To try and provide a solution to this my team and I have looked at the all the providers in the industry to try and put together a full review of the Internet Merchant Account marketplace, and to give people the information they need to make the right decision.

We’ve gone on to put a list of the best providers together based on 3 key factors.

1) The rate charges and contract Length.

People normally want to know what they will be paying as soon as the speak to an account rep. This can be a really misleading area though. People will get quoted a rate and then assume that’s all they’ll pay! But it doesn’t work like that. People really need to understand all the charges that can be added to their account and they need to speak to an account provider who is prepared to be completely upfront about it.

What individuals are generally quoted is a ‘Standard Rate’. However, the actual fees that are charged are split up into 2 different areas made up of Assessment Fees and Interchange fees. The Assessment fee refers to a fee that is basically a flat transaction fee that varies with the type of card that is used. The Interchange charge is a bit more complex and is a percentage rate charged that changes depending on the category of the transaction.

As an example, the main credit card providers such as Visa, can have as many as 150 different interchange categories. They categories are judged on the type of card used, how it is used, and other variables such as the level of information that was collected at the time.

Many companies also want merchants to sign up for long term contracts for Internet credit card processing. These types of contracts also often have high termination charges. It’s always a warning sign when companies have long contracts, as good Internet Merchant Account providers don’t generally use them.

There are also some other fees that may be included that people should be aware of such as – monthly minimums, annual fees and statement fees. Make sure any Internet merchant account provider that you speak to is completely upfront about these.

2)Support and Customer Service

This is often not considered by people as they are predominantly concerned with what rate they will be charged. This isn’t ideal because, at some point technology goes wrong and when this happen with merchant accounts, people can’t take payments and lose money.

That is why it is so important to look for companies that spend time and money on developing and maintaining the most advanced infrastructure, to ensure that any problems are kept to an absolute minimum.

It’s also really vital that any company has 24 hour support, and a separate teams for each area from customer support to sales, and technical support services.

3) Merchant Account Services

Internet Merchant Accounts need payments gateways to integrate with their shopping carts. Some merchants will charge for this, some offer it for free. People may also want to consider if they may have other needs for their business, especially if it grows, for example windows or apple based software to process cards by hand on a computer, or wireless terminals for things like exhibitions.

The Merchant Warehouse is an easy winner.

There is a 99% approval rate and an account can be approved in as little as 24 hours.

They offer all the major payment gateways – Linkpoint, Payflow Pro, Payflow and Authorize.net as well as Merchant Warehouse’s own MerchantWare virtual terminal. Some are free of charge and the others are charged at the lowest rates in the industry – which they actually guarantee. The range of gateways means there is always a suitable option no matter what your volume of transactions are, or the shopping cart used.

An Internet Merchant Account with merchant warehouse will be able to process all types of credit card.

The contracts are ideal. They roll from month to month and can be canceled at any time, with no charge and they do not charge a start up fee.

My favorite aspect of Merchant Warehouse is their approach to customers. They offer a no pressure consultation to any prospective customers. They don’t immediately quote fees, but try to help people to understand the industry and any potential costs that will affect their account. It means people have all the information they need from transaction fees, to software, to services, so they can make the right decision for them.

However, like the payment gateway costs, they also guarantee that the overall costs of an Internet Merchant Account with them will be the lowest in the industry, (they actually pay $100 if people can find something cheaper).

This is true for people looking for brand new accounts, or for those looking for a better deal on an existing account.

They have a state of the art system infrastructure, which means very few technical problems or downtime. Customers have the option of real time account access.

They also have a range of software based processing programs, so cards can be accepted through a phone, if for example customers phone up to order.

Merchant Warehouse also recently won the award for the top ISO from the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA). The ETA regulate and oversee the industry, so it’s good reflection of their standing and service.

One negative side, I did find them a little slow to get back to me when I first filled out the form online. Although, when things got underway the account was done in under 24 hours.

Currently around 98% of applications are approved and it is normally less than 48 hours from first receiving the application to getting it online.

Charge.com have an excellent fee structure, one of the lowest anywhere in the industry.

There are no start up fees, real time access to accounts, accept all credit cards and people can administer their account from anywhere online.

They also carry all the major gateway software and can also provide a free shopping cart. They have great customer service, with the latest technical infrastructure.

The big disadvantage is the contract length, as it’s on a longer term basis, although the quality of service and low fees mean we still recommend them as a provider.

Internet Merchant Account Conclusion

We currently recommend 2 Internet Merchant Accounts. The main reasons for excluding others providers was down to high, or hidden fees and charges, hard core sales tactics to get people to sign up, long contracts and high termination fees, as well as inadequate customer services and infrastructure.

The best thing to do is get going by chatting to a representative at Merchant Warehouse. It’s easy to do by going through their site, or by simply calling their consultation line 1.866.372.1152.

Sarah asked:

I have taken on a new contract job that will require me to accept credit card payments online or over the phone. I absolutely -can not- afford to lose this job offer as I have already invested a lot of time and money in attaining it and preparing for it.

The developer I am working with had recommended ProPay as a merchant service because they base most of their instructions on the use of ProPay. I went ahead and made an account there, but when I went to process my first orders I had found that the service had been manually cut off. No direct reasons were given, but I suspect it is because someone went and ran a manual personal credit check on me.

I have a credit score of 600, due to a series of unfortunate events where my family decided to abuse my generosity. Of course, you can not explain this hard-lesson-learned to banks.

This said, does anyone have any suggestions for a merchant account service that I can use that will accept me without a credit check or with a score like mine?

It needs to be newbie-friendly, as I have never had to accept payments before or have an account. It also should allow me to send invoices and allow customers to pay directly online; there should not be a very low cap on the monthly transactions, because I do anticipate a large number of sales. I can pay for any fees, so long as they are not predatory and rediculous.
